The Afterparty
The Brief: Curate and execute a horizontal networking event celebrating Black creatives in fashion, entertainment, and the arts during February’s NYFW. The goal is to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within these industries while providing a platform for meaningful connections among creatives of color.

Objectives:
Develop and implement a strategic vision for “The Afterparty” that highlights and celebrates Black creatives.
Create an engaging and impactful networking experience that fosters DEI within the fashion, entertainment, and arts industries.
Drive attendance and awareness of the event through targeted marketing and strategic outreach.
Ensure seamless execution and a memorable experience for all attendees.

Coordinating event logistics and managing multiple aspects of the event, including talent and guest relations.

My Actions:
Event Concept & Strategy: Developed the vision and strategic direction for “The Afterparty,” focusing on celebrating Black creatives and promoting DEI within the industry.
Marketing & Outreach: Designed and executed a comprehensive marketing strategy, leveraging social media, influencer partnerships, and targeted outreach to build anticipation and drive attendance.
Creative Direction: Oversaw all creative elements of the event, including branding, visual design, and programming, to ensure a cohesive and engaging experience.
Talent & Partnership Management: Managed relationships with speakers, performers, and industry influencers, including coordinating their participation, negotiating contracts, and handling day-of logistics.
Logistical Coordination: Directed the planning and execution of the event, including venue selection, scheduling, and on-site coordination, ensuring a smooth and successful gala.
The Result:
Increased Visibility: Successfully positioned “The Afterparty” as a premier networking event during NYFW, achieving over 6K social media impressions on Instagram and TikTok and widespread positive feedback.
High Engagement: Attracted 230+ of attendees, including key Black creatives, influencers, and industry leaders, creating valuable networking opportunities and fostering collaboration.
Positive Impact: Enhanced awareness and support for diversity and inclusion in the fashion, entertainment, and arts industries, reinforcing the event’s mission and objectives.
Successful Partnerships: Secured and nurtured key partnerships and sponsorships, contributing to the event’s credibility and setting the stage for future collaborations.
